Wei obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Hunan University in China and completed his postdoctoral studies at Inha University in South Korea. He is currently a research fellow in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast.
With a strong interest in advanced materials and composite structures, his research themes have included reliability analysis, impact and crashworthiness analysis, smart structures, and bio-inspired designs.
Wei has developed computational inverse technologies for the identification, modelling and design of advanced materials under extreme duress and in uncertain environments. He is a member of the International Association for Computational Mechanics.
